Invite members

To let colleagues use your apps, invite their email addresses to the workspace. Choose a role based on whether they will only use apps or also build and update them.

Owners and Admins can invite members on all plans. The process is complete when the recipient accepts and you can confirm their membership on the Members page.

The allowance for people who build and manage apps is called Developers seats. App Users do not use these seats.

Admins cannot invite someone as an Owner. Developers and App Users cannot invite other users.

An invitation for a Developer, Admin, or Owner reserves one Developers seat when sent, even before the recipient accepts it. You cannot invite someone to these roles when the seat limit has been reached. You can invite any number of App Users regardless of available seats.

  1. Open Members in the console and select Invite Member.
  2. Enter email addresses (up to 50 at a time).
  3. Choose a role.
  4. Select Send Invitations.

Each recipient automatically receives an email with an invitation link. The results screen shown immediately afterward also lets you copy links to share directly. If you close that screen and later need a link, use Resend invitation on the Members page to issue and share a new one.

Invitations expire 3 days (72 hours) after creation.

  1. Open the link in the email.
  2. Sign in with a Google or Microsoft account using the invited email address, or use a one-time code sent by email.

Signing in automatically accepts the invitation. If you are already signed in with the invited address, opening the email link joins the workspace immediately.

If you are signed in with a different email address, sign in again with the invited one.

The apps you can use after joining depend on app permissions. By default, every member can use every app.

The person sending the invitation should also send the app URL in chat or email. Invitation emails do not include app URLs.

App Users cannot access the console’s app list or management pages. After joining, they see a message directing them to ask the person who invited them for an app URL.

On the Members page, people who have not accepted their invitation appear as Pending; those who have joined appear as Active.

  • Revoke invalidates an invitation that has not been accepted.
  • Resend issues a new link for an invitation that has not been accepted. The old link becomes invalid, and the new one expires 3 days (72 hours) after resending.
  • For an expired or revoked invitation, create a new invitation for the same address.
